Lisa MangumANWA is proud to announce, as the keynote speaker for its 20th Annual Writers Conference, Lisa Mangum, Assistant Editor at Deseret Book/Shadow Mountain.  Her keynote address, “Reach for Your Dream – It’s Closer Than You Think,” will motivate and inspire you, as Lisa takes you  on her journey as an author and editor and explains  how YOUR dream (whatever it is) is truly closer than you think.  Lisa Mangum graduated from the University of Utah in 1997 and immediately began working for Deseret Book. She lives in Utah with her husband, Tracy. She is the author of the Hourglass Door trilogy.

 

Larry Brooks, is the author of “Story Engineering,” a bestselling 2011 writing book from Writers Digest Books, and the creator of Storyfix.com, a leading website for novelists and screenwriters.  He is also the author of five published thrillers.

 

 

 

Deirdra Coppel, is an award winning artist who started her career in 2001 as an art director for a private publisher. She is an also an author, graphic designer and mother.

 

 

 

Joyce DiPastena is the author of two medieval romances and is a two-time Whitney Award finalist. Her third romance will be released in early 2012.

 

 

 

 

Jane Dystel, President of Dystel & Goderich Literary Management, has been an agent since 1986, though her publishing career began long before that. DGLM’s primary goal is to offer financial and contractual advice to its clients, as well as editorial guidance and support. Jane grew up in Rye, NY, the daughter of publishing legend, Oscar Dystel.

 

 

David Eaton is a business owner with more than 30 years experience building several multimillion dollar companies.  Dave is a Local Marketing Consultant for small business and his recent ventures include Online Marketing and Social Media Marketing.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Sara Francis-Fujimura is a world-traveler, Girl Scout Leader, anime con mom, musician, and is infinitely fascinated by deadly diseases.  She weaves all these together to create fun nonfiction articles and essays.


 

 

Donna Hatch  is an author of Historical Romance and Fantasy Romance.   Donna Hatch began writing at the tender age of eight. A native of AZ, her writing awards include the Golden Quill and the Golden Rose.

 

 

 

Sandra Hendrickson is a music educator, songwriter and author.  She studied music in school and attended many music workshops to develop her music skills.

 

 

 

 

Linda Prince Mulleneaux is Managing Editor at Walnut Springs Press.  For almost twenty years, Linda  has worked as a writer and editor in the fields of marketing research, technical training, and LDS publishing.

 

 

Anita Mumm reads queries and sample pages and presents workshops for writers across the country on behalf of Nelson Literary Agency.


 

 

 

Josh Perkey is a senior editor for the Ensign and Liahona magazines. On the side he writes fantasy novels and closely follows publishing trends, plays with his kids, and travels occasionally.

 

 

 

Matt Peterson has operated a freelance copy writing business for the past four years, specializing in blogging, social media marketing, website content, by-lined articles, email marketing, and more.

 

 

 

Wendy S. Peterson is a fourth-generation native of Mesa, Wendy hails from a long line of teachers. Imparting her love of language and literature to her students, whether teens or adults, ignites her passion.

 

 

 

Linda Radke, President of Five Star Publications, Inc., has 25 years of publishing experience and countless international, national and state awards in publishing, marketing and writing.  Among her accolades,  she authored The Economical Guide to Self-Publishing (2010 Paris Book Festival, first place winner and Writer’s Digest Book Club selection) and Promote Like a Pro:  Small Budget, Big Show (Doubleday Executive Program Book Club selection).

 

 

Janette Rallison is the award winning author of 18 novels that have sold over 1,000,000 copies, including her latest books: My Unfair Godmother and Slayers, under the pseudonym CJ Hill.

 

 

 

Peggy Shumway has twice served as a family history consultant for the LDS Church and has written several sagas about her ancestors.

 

 

 

 

Conrad Storad is the award-winning author of more than 40 nonfiction science and nature books for young readers. His newest title is Arizona Way Out West & Wacky. The book is as an official Arizona Centennial Legacy project.

 

 

 

Brent Whiting has worked as a crime reporter for newspapers in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Avondale.  He teaches English at Glendale Community college and online for the University of Phoenix.  His late wife, Linda, was an ANWA member.
